Charlotte McNiff Ferguson

Respecting a building’s history while introducing thoughtful, seamless interior detailing is at the heart of Charlotte’s work. Her design approach layers color, texture, and perspective to create spaces that feel both fresh and deeply connected to each client’s needs and a building’s unique character.

With over 15 years of experience across traditional and contemporary interiors and exteriors, Charlotte skillfully translates a wide range of styles to serve an equally diverse clientele. She is most passionate about enhancing property value, honoring architectural integrity, and bringing renewed life to her clients’ homes.

In 2023, Charlotte joined Fajen & Brown Construction as Director of Design, helping guide the firm’s evolution into a full-service design-build practice. She serves as a key liaison between architects and clients, leading design development prior to construction. In this role, she collaborates closely with project managers and Cabriole Studio, with a focus on kitchens, bathrooms, custom millwork, lighting design, and interiors.

From 2018 to 2022, Charlotte worked as Director of Construction for Zoe Feldman after returning to her hometown of Washington, DC.

Charlotte began her career at a design-build firm in San Francisco following the completion of her BA from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2011 and her Interior Architecture Master’s Certificate from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015.

Lockhart is the namesake of Charlotte’s grandmother, whose creativity and influence from an early age inspired Charlotte to pursue a career in interior architectural design.
